The project is carried out jointly by municipalities Nova Gorica, Brda and Ajdovščina and is part-financed with grants from the Cohesion Fund of the European Union. The total value of the group of projects is 37.3 million EUR. The Cohesion fund will part-finance 13.6 million EUR, while the remaining 23.7 million EUR will be financed from the national and municipal budgets. Till March 2012, when the project should be concluded, the treatment plant for drinking water Hubelj should be built, the water station and treatment plant for drinking water Mrzlek will be modernized, while around 75 km of pipelines and 11.5 km of the sewage system should be reconstructed or built anew.
We are within the framework of the project working on the technological modernization of the winning area and water station Mrzlek. We already replaced the present pumps with submerged pumps with effective rated output of 136 kW. The new pipelines are joined with Victaulic clamps without welding. The Victaulic clamps enable faster assembly as well as simple maintenance of pumps.
The technological modernization of the water station also required the modernization of electronic regulation and the upgrade of control of sand filters for drinking water through PLCs and new SCADE. We prepared new distribution points, programmed regulators and implemented the new application SCADE for new and old water station MRZLEK in cooperation with partners.
We replaced pneumatic valve drives with electro-engine AUMA drives at the sand filters of the new water station. The new drives are less susceptible to humidity and are more reliable than old drives.
The water station was equipped with new ozone generators for the disinfection of drinking water. The two new ozone generators are produced as containers. Ozoned water is led to two disinfection pools with PVC construction. We also installed six magnetic induction meters (DN 250 to DN 350) for the rate of flow for controlling the rate and use of water.
